Efectos del periodo de confinamiento en la composición corporal y el rendimiento físico en niños

La pandemia COVID-19 es una crisis sanitaria sin precedentes. Muchos organismos gubernamentales han tomado la drástica medida de confinar a la gente en sus casas para prevenir más contagios. Este período de confinamiento ha traído consigo una serie de consecuencias negativas para la salud de las personas, y especialmente para los más jóvenes. Antes y después del confinamiento se realizaron mediciones antropométricas, pruebas de salto, de fuerza de agarre y de agilidad para evaluar el impacto del sedentarismo en un grupo de 19 niños de 13 años. Esta inactividad ha causado un empeoramiento de sus características físicas, como el aumento de la grasa corporal (p = 0,006), la ICC (p = 0,014) y la disminución de la prueba de salto (p = 0,016). Además, se pudo observar una excelente correlación entre la importancia dada por el padre a la Educación Física y el rendimiento físico evaluado por la prueba de agilidad (.624) y el salto (.694). Se concluye que el período de confinamiento tiene efectos adversos en la composición corporal y la condición física de los niños
