Appointment Process for Editorial Roles

The journal EDUCA establishes a transparent procedure based on academic merit for the appointment of the Editor-in-Chief, in accordance with international best practices in editorial management and the principles of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics).

The appointed Editor-in-Chief must meet the following criteria: demonstrated research experience in education and innovation; a strong record of quality scientific publications in indexed journals and international academic recognition; previous experience in editorial management, scientific reviewing, or coordination of research teams; and commitment to ethical principles and scientific integrity.

The appointment is carried out by the publishing entity CAMPUS EDUCA SPORTIS S.L., which may propose a candidate or launch an internal or external process to identify suitable profiles. The process includes a merit assessment of the candidate’s academic, editorial, and managerial qualifications; consultation with the Editorial Board, which may issue recommendations; and a formal appointment published on the journal’s website. The position does not have a fixed term, but suitability and performance are periodically reviewed following principles of continuous improvement.

Once the appointment is made, the identity of the Editor-in-Chief is published on the journal’s website, all institutional documents referencing this role are updated, and the appointment is communicated to indexing services and relevant repositories.

The Editor-in-Chief may leave the position due to voluntary resignation, a supervening incompatibility, or a justified decision by the publishing entity based on performance, ethical considerations, or editorial restructuring. In the event of termination, the replacement process will follow the same criteria of transparency.

For the selection of the remaining roles—editorial team members, scientific committee members, and external reviewers—the Editor-in-Chief and the editorial team will propose and approve all individuals collaborating with the journal, provided that they comply with the journal’s ethical standards and best editorial practices.
